The Albanian Development Guarantee Foundation (ADGF) and ABI Bank signed a new partnership agreement today to expand access to finance for businesses in Albania, with a primary focus on the micro and small business segments.
Through this partnership, ADGF will provide credit guarantees to support eligible lending by ABI Bank, helping businesses overcome collateral constraints that can limit their access to financing. The cooperation aims to enable entrepreneurs to invest in their activities, strengthen their operations and pursue opportunities for growth.
Micro and small businesses play an essential role in Albania’s economy, supporting employment and local development. Yet access to finance remains a challenge for many enterprises with viable business plans and repayment capacity. By sharing part of the lending risk, ADGF’s guarantees can help bridge this gap and facilitate financing through partner financial institutions.
The new agreement builds on ADGF’s longstanding cooperation with NOA and extends this relationship through ABI Bank, maintaining a strong focus on the financing needs of smaller businesses.
“Through this partnership with ABI Bank, we aim to bring financing within reach of more micro and small businesses. Our role is to help viable enterprises overcome collateral barriers so they can invest, grow and contribute to employment and local economic development,” said Gertjana Drita, Executive Director of ADGF.
The agreement further expands ADGF’s network of partner financial institutions and supports its mission to improve access to finance for underserved micro, small and medium-sized enterprises in Albania.
ADGF and ABI Bank look forward to working together to turn this cooperation into tangible opportunities for businesses and the communities they serve.
